The lightweight, stiff composite structure incorporates two aluminum duct sections to permit connection of 3” hose or silicone couplers with clamps. The tubing is supplied without a bead to accept the widest range of hose or tubing options, but a bead can be added if desired using a vice-mounted bead roller (contact REM for additional details). In mid-engine applications, like the FFR 818C, cooling air can be channeled from side intakes, roof duct ports, or a combination of both. (Note: stay tuned for REM’s upcoming release of carbon fiber side intake pods). A silicone edge trim gasket seals against the intercooler’s surface and dampens vibration during driving.
The intercooler plenum easily mounts to your engine’s intercooler using your choice of mounting brackets and associated hardware. The plenum can be modified to include liquid coolant injectors, fans, additional intake ports, etc. to meet the needs of your specific application.
